Known as Cakalang, the Skip Jack Tuna is a delicious fish favored by many. They are the smallest and most abundant of the major commercial tuna species. They have a streamlined body that is mostly without scales and dark purple-blue backs with four to six dark silver bands on the lower sides and bellies. Skip Jack Tuna is very tasty and good to eat. The flesh is meaty with a mild fishy flavor. When the flesh is raw, it is a beautiful bright red in color.
